This will cover the basics of astrophotography and make sure everyone is on the same page. Bring your gear with you! We will be shooting that night atop Loveland Pass. May 23rd, 2020 we will be shooting this night at Green Mountain Reservoir and hopefully have clear skies! May 24th, 2020 will be another shooting night at Montezuma trail head located just past Keystone, Colorado This is a basic astrophotography workshop, we will be teaching how to plan, prepare, foundations of astronomy and astrophotography, and much more. We want you to gain an advantage that we did not have when we first started astrophotography. Learn from our trial and error to help jump start your astrophotoraphy passion! Our goal is for every student to get multiple images they are happy with and we will be helping everyone the entire time. We will not be shooting, maybe just to capture video or group pictures but we will focus on students and helping them the whole time while they are shooting. Requirements: Must be over 21 (if under 21 must have parent or guardian sign contract). Must have a decent camera, it is not required to have a full frame camera but it is recommended. 1 lens that is f/2.8 or faster and the wider the better! Anything above a 35mm lens will be hard to shoot with and will not let you shoot for very long exposures. Prime lenses are recommend. Must have a tripod! Intervalometer or remote shutter release is recommended for any long exposure photography. I recommend using a wireless remote not a cable one. Also, be prepared for cold weather and possible wind.
